Who am I?

I'm a black cabbie, stemming from east london. Now now, before you judge I'm young, voted remain, listen to grime and do yoga in my spare time, so take any of them stereotypes you may have and leave them at the door, 'cause to be quite frank? They're offensive and I like to think we've moved on for that. :D So, now we've got that out of they way, what's the point of this

endeavour into the grossly over saturated market of free-form blogging?

Well, like most, I think my opinion actually matters. It doesn't, but that aint gonna stop me from deluding myself, and what better vehicle to use than a shitty wix.com website made from default templates? There's gonna be plenty of bold fonts, stock photos and limited design, so strap yourselves in folks. I'm going in...

Being in the line of work I'm in, I get to meet people from every corner of the earth, no matter how remote and in all kinds of conditions and states (rich, poor, drunk, sober, moody, calm etc etc...) After a while, you start to get a birds eye picture of not only your city, but the whole breadth of humanity and human culture also. It's why I love my job. So what I want to do is use my unique vantage point to express a variety of views, stories and opinions in as well reasoned and interesting fashion as possible. You never know, I might actually even start talking a little sense if I try hard enough. While I have the opportunity though, I also want to write about the intricacies and folklore involved with my 400 year old trade. The slang, the knowledge, the history, the etiquette. What a lot of people don't understand is that the black cab trade is a sub-culture in itself, one as rich as any contained within the 32 boroughs of London. I want to go on record here, all on the promise of hardly ever using the dreaded "U" word or TFL too. ;)

So, expect plenty of anecdotes, news articles, opinion pieces, bar reviews and sordid tales, all directly sourced from the pulpit of my black cab. If anything is going down in London, you're gonna hear about it here first.
